This Mardi Himal Trek is newly open trekking route in the Annapurna region.  As it is newly opened, there is a very less crowd during trekking.  As it is newly opened, it will be difficult to find the route while trekking, so one must be careful on finding the route.

This trek has a lots more to offer apart from view of different Himalayan ranges like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Macchapuchre, etc.

You can enjoy natural hot spring water at Jhinu and culture and lifestyle at Ghandruk village.  Mostly Gurung people live in this village.  You will get a chance to experience the culture and witness the lifestyle of the local people there.

You will trek through the forest of pine, rhododendron, and other floras and faunas.  These green lands and forests will give you company throughout the trek along with some majestic view of mountain ranges.

Also, you will be able to see different animals and birds like deer, red panda, lophophorus, pheasants, etc.


Day via day Itinerary:

Day 01:
Arrival day in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be hearty welcomed by our staffs.  After completion of airport duties (visas, documents, etc.), you will proceed towards the arrival gate and look for our representatives.  After that, you will be escorted to Shankar Hotel.

After checking in, you can take rest for few hours and go out for sightseeing with our guide or representatives.  We will organize a typical Nepali welcome dinner at the evening along with Nepali traditional dance and music.

Day 02:
Kathmandu – Trek preparation.  

After finishing breakfast, we start our day with sightseeing some local historical and cultural attractions near Kathmandu including durbar square and temples like Pashupatinath, Baudha, and Swyambhu (monkey temple).  At afternoon, we will meet our tour guide, team leader, and other members of our trip and discuss about the trek where you can ask any questions regarding this trek.

Day 03:
Kathmandu to Pokhara:

Early morning we will drive to Pokhara.  During 6 hours of drive, we will see green hills, mountains in the distance and rivers.  After six hours, we will reach Pokhara.  Pokhara Valley offers beautiful view of mountains and lakes.  We can enjoy our leisure time roaming around the valley.  Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 04:
Pokhara to Deurali:

We will drive up to Kande, as the road is quite good.  Few people starts trek from here.  The trail is good to walk on.  Trail gets steeper as we get close to Australian Base Camp.  We will have our lunch break here and again start our trek.  A downhill walk from here will lead you to Pothana.  There is a Trekkers’ Information Managements System (TIMS) check point in Pothana.  Slight uphill from Pothana, the trail will lead you to Deurali.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 05: Deurali to Forest Camp:

Today’s trail follows through the jungle.  Trail is uphill as well as downhill.  With the beautiful view of the green forest, we reach to Forest Camp in about 4 hours.  We will stay at a lodge here in Forest Camp.

Day 06: Forest Camp to Low Camp:

Trail is downhill from Forest Camp and it gets steep upon reaching the ridge.  It is a short walk from Forest Camp to Low Camp with a glance of Annapurna South and green forest.  After three hours of walk, we now reach to Low Camp.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 07: Low Camp to High Camp:

As we gain the altitude today, trees in the forests starts to get smaller.  Few hours of walking from Low Camp, we reach in an open area where there are few trees.  We can get good view of Macchapuchre and Annapurna South from here.   After three hours of walking from here, we now reach High Camp.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 08: Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp and return to same place:

Today, we will trek up to Mardi Himal Base Camp.  Today’s trail is quite long to walk.  We will get a good view when we reach up at the base camp.  From base camp, we can get good view of the mountains and its surrounding.  After spending few time there at the base camp, we now return to High Camp.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 09: High Camp to Forest Camp:

We will trek downhill today to reach Forest Camp.  We can even take a short tea break at the Low Camp to catch our breath and again continue to walk to reach Forest Camp.  After about 4 hours of walk, we now reach to Forest Camp.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 10: Forest Camp to Tolka:

Today, we follow the trail to reach Tolka.  At first, we reach to Deurali.  From Deurali, it will take about 6 hours to reach Tolka.  On the way, we can enjoy beautiful view of green lands and forests, etc.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 11: Tolka to Jhinu Hot Spring:

Today, we will trek to Naya Pool through Landruk Village.  Trail is slight uphill from Naya Pool up to Jhinu Danda.  It will take about 5 hours to reach Jhinu from Tolka.  Upon reaching Jhinu, we can relax on a natural hot spring there.  Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 12: Jhinu Hot Spring to Ghandruk:

Today’s trail is downhill up to Kimrong Khola.  From there, we will hike all the way up to Ghandruk village.  It will take about 5 hours to reach Ghandruk.  Ghandruk is a village where there are mostly Gurung people.  You can interact with the local people there are know about their culture and lifestyle and in the free time, you can roam around the village to know more about the place.  Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 13: Ghandruk to Pokhara:

Today if the weather is clear, you will get a chance to see mountains like Macchapuchre, Annapurna South, etc.  We will hike up to Naya Pool from Ghandruk.  We will walk through the forest enjoying the view of the nature.  In about 4 hours of walk, we will reach Naya Pool.  And from here, you will drive to reach Pokhara.  Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 14:  Pokhara to Kathmandu:

After finishing breakfast, we catch a bus to reach Kathmandu which is about 200 km drive.  We can enjoy beautiful scenery on the way back.  It will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Kathmandu.  Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel and rest.  After rest and lunch you can enjoy your free time shopping handicrafts and other local products for your friends and relatives back to your home.  Or you can even do some sightseeing in your leisure time.  In the evening, we will have dinner together and share our experience about the trekking.

Day 15:  Final day:

Final departure:  Today will be your last day here in Nepal.  You can still do some last moment shopping or local sightseeing if there is any leisure time left.  And approximately 3 hours before scheduled flight, our representative will escort you to the airport.
