Royal Trekking (9 days)

Situated at the north of Pokhara valley, this Royal trek is a short trek for those who have less time to enjoy their holiday here in Nepal.  In early 1980s, Prince Charles had explored this route with his team.  Since then, it was popularly known as “Royal Trek.”

This trek will allow you to come close with the nature.  This trek offers you a magnificent view of green hills, snow-capped mountains, paddy fields, etc.  Comparing with the other trekking routes in this area, this Royal trek is less crowded.

This is one of the easy trekking routes in this region.  You don’t have to worry about the altitude sickness or acclimatization and the trails are easy to climb.


This trek begins from Pokhara.  Trail pass through Gurung village.  This trek also allows you to be close with the nature as well as to be close with the culture and lifestyle of Gurung people.

The maximum altitude of this trek is about 1800 m, so person with the good health can easily complete this trek.





Day via day Itinerary:

Day 01:
Arrival day in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be hearty welcomed by our staffs.  After completion of airport duties (visas, documents, etc.), you will proceed towards the arrival gate and look for our representatives.  After that, you will be escorted to Shankar Hotel.

After checking in, you can take rest for few hours and go out for sightseeing with our guide or representatives.  We will organize a typical Nepali welcome dinner at the evening along with Nepali traditional dance and music.

Day 02:
Kathmandu – Trek preparation.  

After finishing breakfast, we start our day with sightseeing some local historical and cultural attractions near Kathmandu including durbar square and temples like Pashupatinath, Baudha, and Swyambhu (monkey temple).  At afternoon, we will meet our tour guide, team leader, and other members of our trip and discuss about the trek where you can ask any questions regarding this trek.

Day 03:
Kathmandu to Pokhara:

Early morning we will drive to Pokhara.  During 6 hours of drive, we will see green hills, mountains in the distance and rivers.  After six hours, we will reach Pokhara.  Pokhara Valley offers beautiful view of mountains and lakes.  We can enjoy our leisure time roaming around the valley.  Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 04: Pokhara to Bijayapur to Kalikasthan (1,370 m):

Early in the morning, we drive to Bijayapur to start our trekking.  We will walk for about an hour along the field and we will cross the river.  Trail then starts to ascend up to Kalikasthan.  After walking for few hours, we reach Kalikasthan.  We will go for sightseeing around the place in our leisure time.  Overnight stay at Kalikasthan.

Day 05: Kalikathan to Syaklung (1,730 m):

Today, we will walk through many beautiful villages.  We can interact with the locals passing through village.  Trail today offers a beautiful view of mountain ranges.  Trail follows through rhododendron forest.  After walking for few hours, we reach Syaklung.  Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 06: Syaklung to Chisopani (1,550 m):

Today’s trail is both uphill as well as downhill.  We will walk through the Gurung settlement.  We will get an opportunity to get close with their culture as well as lifestyle.  Trail goes through the rhododendron jungle.  After few hours of walk, we reach Chisopani which is a good viewpoint to see different mountain ranges.  Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Day 07: Chisopani to Begnas Tal to Pokhara:

Today’s trail is also both uphill as well as downhill.  We will first walk downhill up to Rupa Tal and then ascend up few hundred meters to reach Sundare Danda which is a good viewpoint to see surrounding.  After few minutes spending there, we continue to our trek to reach Begnas Tal.  We can enjoy few times enjoying boating at the lake and after that we drive back to Pokhara.  Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08:  Pokhara to Kathmandu:

After finishing breakfast, we catch a bus to reach Kathmandu which is about 200 km drive.  We can enjoy beautiful scenery on the way back.  It will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Kathmandu.  Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel and rest.  After rest and lunch you can enjoy your free time shopping handicrafts and other local products for your friends and relatives back to your home.  Or you can even do some sightseeing in your leisure time.  In the evening, we will have dinner together and share our experience about the trekking.

Day 09:  Final day:

Final departure:  Today will be your last day here in Nepal.  You can still do some last moment shopping or local sightseeing if there is any leisure time left.  And approximately 3 hours before scheduled flight, our representative will escort you to the airport.
