Manaslu Trekking (10 days)

Manaslu – Soul of mountain is one of the beautiful place to trek.  It is an untouched region of Nepal.  We can get good view of the mountains from this region.

Manaslu lies north of the historic town of Gorkha.  You can enjoy the culture of Tamangs – horse traders.

You will be able to get close with the nature as well as the tradition and lifestyle of the local people in this region.


You will also be able to see animals Red Pandas and Snow Leopard.




Day via day Itinerary:

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu:

Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be hearty welcomed by our staffs.  After completion of airport duties (visas, documents, etc.), you will proceed towards the arrival gate and look for our representatives.  After that, you will be escorted to Shankar Hotel.

After checking in, you can take rest for few hours and go out for sightseeing with our guide or representatives.  We will organize a typical Nepali welcome dinner at the evening along with Nepali traditional dance and music.

Day 02:  Kathmandu – Trek preparation. 

After finishing breakfast, we start our day with sightseeing some local historical and cultural attractions near Kathmandu including durbar square and temples like Pashupatinath, Baudha, and Swyambhu (monkey temple).  At afternoon, we will meet our tour guide, team leader, and other members of our trip and discuss about the trek where you can ask any questions regarding this trek.

Day 03:  Kathmandu to Aarughat Bazar:

We will drive on Prithvi Highway.  Enjoying the beautiful view of the nature we will reach Dhading Bazar.  From there, we will further drive to reach Aarughat Bazar.  In about 7 hours, we will reach Aarughat Bazar.

Day 04:  Aarughat to Liding:

Today is the first day of trek.  We will walk along the bank of Budhi Gandaki river.  We will walk along the green fields.  In about 7 hours, we will reach Liding.  Overnight stay at Liding.

Day 05:  Liding to Macche Khola:

Today, we will pass small villages and terraced farm lands.  We will see many tributary streams that enters Budhi Gandaki river.  Trail leads to uphill climb which leads us to Macche Khola.  Overnight stay at Macche Khola.

Day 06:  Macche Khola to Jagat:

We will climb up leaving Macche Khola to reach Khola Besi and natural hot spring at Tatopani.  We will then cross the river via suspension bridge.  Trail is quite difficult to walk on some places.  We will then reach Dovan, where there is one teahouse.  Walking further from Dovan, we will reach Jagat.  Overnight stay at Jagat.

Day 07:  Jagat to Ding:

We will descend through stone steps and then climb up to Salleri.  From here, we can see Singri Himal and Ganesh Himal.  We will cross river three times and in about 7 hours, we will reach Ding.  Overnight stay at Ding.

Day 08:  Ding to Chap:

We will follow the trail which leads to village of Lama.  We will see mani stones, prayer wheels, colorful flags.  After few hours of walk, we will reach Chap.  This is a Tibetan village where people are Buddhist.  Overnight stay at Chap.

Day 09:  Chap to Lho:

Today’s trek, we will see beautiful mountain ranges.  Along the trail, we will see mani stones and walls.  We will cross Budhi Gandaki river and reach Namrung.  There is a check post in Namrung where our permit will be checked.  After permit check, we further trek up to reach Lho.  From this village, we will get first view of Manaslu.  Overnight stay at Lho.

Day 10:  Lho to Sama Gaon:

Today, we will walk along the river bank from where we can get a view of Peak 29 in front.  Continuing to walk on the trail, we reach Sama Gaon.  We can walk 20 minutes further to visit Sama Gompa and Samdo.  Overnight stay at Sama Gaon.

Day 11:  Rest day in Sama Gaon:

Today, we will stay in Sama Gaon for acclimatization.  We will go for sightseeing in the nearby places.  We can also get a good view of mountains and forest.  We can enjoy the view for whole day and relax.  Overnight stay at Sama Gaon.

Day 12:  Sama Gaon to Dharamsala:

We will walk today along the roaring Budi Gandaki river.  As we continue to trek, we will see beautiful Manslu.  After crossing the river, we will reach a Sumdu village where there are few houses.  Passing this village, we will reach Dharmasala in about 7 hours.  Overnight stay at Dharmasala.

Day 13:  Dharamsala to Tanbuche:

After a short hike up the hill, we will reach Larkya Glacier.  We can get good view of Cho Danda and Larkya Peak.  After crossing the glacier, we will ascend which is quite steep on the last section.  Crossing this, we will get good view of Annapurna II, Kanguru, Himlung, etc.  Descending from there, we will reach Tanbuche.  Overnight stay at Tanbuche.

Day 14:  Rest day at Tanbuche:

Today you can either rest for a whole day or you can explore Tanbuche valley.  You can interact with the local here and know about their culture and lifestyle.  You can enjoy whole day the beauty of the nature.  Overnight stay at Tanbuche.

Day 15:  Tanbuche to Karche:

Today, we will trek to reach Karche.  While walking, we can see many mani stones and wall and old Tibetan houses.  We will descend Burdin Khola valley to reach base camp of west side Manaslu.  From there, we again descend down to reach Karche.  We will walk through beautiful rhododendron forest.  Overnight stay at Karche.

Day 16: Karche to Dharapani:

We will climb a terrace to reach Karche La Pass.  From there, we can see green valley and Marshyangdi river.  Following a trail, we will reach Thonje village, where our permit will be checked for the last time.  After permit check, we continue to trek and cross Marshyangdi river and then following the trail to reach Dharapani.  Overnight stay at Dharapani.

Day 17:  Dharapani to Jagat:

There was a lake in this region, which was formed after the valley was blocked by landslide.  The rock for the landslide formed a dam by which the lake is formed.  But the water has dried up and Jagat village sits on this land.  Overnight stay at Jagat.

Day 18:  Jagat to Ngadi:

Trekking downhill, we reach Syange.  From there, we will cross a suspension bridge over Marshyangdi river.  From there we will climb up to reach Bahundanda and then we will reach Ngadi.  Overnight stay at Ngadi.

Day 19:  Ngadi to Besi Sahar:

Today the walking will be easy.  We will take an easy route today.  We will take trail from Bhulbhule to reach Besi Sahar.  Overnight stay at Besi Shahar.

Day 20:  Drive to Kathmandu:

Today, we will drive back to Kathmandu for Besi Sahar.  Enjoying the beautiful view of nature, we will reach back to Kathmandu in about 7 hours.  Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 21:  Final day:

Final departure:  Today will be your last day here in Nepal.  You can still do some last moment shopping or local sightseeing if there is any leisure time left.  And approximately 3 hours before scheduled flight, our representative will escort you to the airport.
